I just found out that Floyd Rose will now be making all his tremolos in the United States. This is after 40 years of exclusive production by Schaller in Germany.
I am happy about that for a few reasons.
I am a not a fan of Schaller because of a personal "bad customer experience" with Lars Brünning a couple of years ago that put me offside. Since then, I have pretty much refused to use or recommend Schaller products. I took their locking tuners and tremolos off my website. That's what happens when you get treated like shit by someone you are trying to do business with.
I am pretty impressed with the reasoning behind the new direction. (USA products made in the USA. Isn't that what the current president there is trying broadly to resurrect? More jobs for your people. Sounds pretty sensible.)
The technology applied to this new USA Series sounds exciting (3D printing!) and I am sure they will turn out amazing products. It looks like they started around 2021. I am an authorized reseller of Floyd Rose products. Time to send an email.
USA-made for a USA company is a good thing.
As for Schaller? There are a lot of ramifications there. A lot of those will be the result of public opinion. I wish Floyd Rose the best.

I am still waiting for the day when someone brings back the Fernandes FRT-4, possibly the ultimate double locking guitar tremolo system ever made. Fernandes itself has gone. Anyone want to join forces?
