Gaskell Hybrid  (2011 - 2012)

The inspiration for this guitar is obvious, however at the time I began producing this left handed model originals were not offered in left hand. The HYBRID was one of the most popular Gaskell guitars during it's production run.

This guitar was really "two guitars in one" due to the addition of a coil split on a push-pull control which allowed the humbucking pickups to emulate a traditional single coil "Fender sound" when selected.

In 2013 we were forced to stop factory-made guitars and the HYBRID became a full Custom shop model. We made some incredible guitars thereafter.

Despite being a factory model, the Legacy HYBRID was made with genuine mahogany for the body and a genuine 18mm maple cap. This was completely unheard of on mass-produced factory guitars. Consequently, the HYBRID was very expensive to make and it was a struggle to keep it at the intended sub-$1000 price point. Needless to say, I barely broke even on these guitars, and to be honest, I was quite relieved to discontinue this model in 2013.

NOTE: I continued to offer this guitar as a 100% Australian-made Custom Shop model until 2020.
