VBass  (2010 - 2012)

The Gaskell V-BASS is most obviously a Flying V Bass guitar. This is a model that is next to impossible to find in right hand, let alone in left hand.

This bass is the hallmark of Heavy Metal music. Not only does it look aggressive but it's shape is practical and ergonomic. The V shape is a shape that always makes a statement and says you mean business.

The Gaskell V-BASS started out as a factory model, introduced in 2010, and went on to become the second most popular Gaskell bass and is played by bass players all over the world.

While the original Gaskell VBASS remains a Legacy model, I am willing to make the VBASS in Custom Shop, although from 2024 I have had to become very selective about what Custom builds I want to do.

And bear in mind that Gibson Guitars are aggressively trying to ruin other guitar brands that make guitars similar to theirs. They succeeded suing Dean Guitars in 2022 for making Flying V guitars (even though they had been making them since 1977) and they are continuing to come after the boutique builders.

The question Custom Shop builders like myself have to ask themselves these days is: "do I really want to take the risk?"
