I am a huge Gary Moore fan. He is my all-time favourite guitarist and the biggest influence on my playing. I still remember the first time I heard We Want Moore! back in the 1980s. It was my introduction to his music, and I still play his music to this day.

Gaskell Guitars is pleased to announce a new stock left-handed Gary Moore Tribute model from the Gaskell Custom Shop.

This guitar is a recreation of the red Charvel guitar Gary Moore used as his main instrument during his 1985 touring period. It features a striking metallic red finish, a single EMG bridge pickup, and a white pickguard—capturing the direct, no-nonsense look and high-output voice associated with that era of Moore’s playing. And, of course, it is left-handed.

I am building it as a stock Gaskell model, and it will be available in Tier 1 (N.O.S Wilkinsons) and Tier 2 (genuine EMG-81) versions in the Gaskell Workhorse Series.

Final assembly, setup, and quality control are done by me personally here in Australia, as with all new Gaskell Custom Shop left-handed guitars.

This is not a Charvel or Fender guitar. It uses the Gaskell headstock shape, avoiding any infringement of Fender trademarks.

This tribute model is offered as a standard left-handed production model, making this iconic mid-1980s Gary Moore-inspired design available to lefty players at a more attainable price. Further details, specifications, pricing, and ordering information are available now.

As soon as I finish the first one, I will list it on Reverb. Lefty players living in Australia are welcome to come to my new showroom at Springwood in the Blue Mountains and try it.

NOTE: I do not have any body blanks routed for a Floyd Rose at the moment. The first models I complete will have ST style tremolo-enabled bridges.

Here is a Gary Moore song with improvised solo worth learning (if you haven't learned it already):
