Are you sick and tired of being treated as an afterthought by corporate-mentality guitar brands just because you are a lefty player?

 

​I was. So, in 2007 I decided to build left-handed guitars that other guitar brands only occasionally made or refused to make at all. To this day Gaskell Guitars remains the only lefty-exclusive guitar brand in the world, located in Australia. This is a small market. Only 1 in every 200 guitarists is a lefty. But someone has to look after us!

Gaskell Beginnings

From 2007 to 2012 Gaskell guitars and basses were factory-made instruments with Custom Shop upgrades available through the PRO SERIES. From 2013 to 2023, all Gaskell guitars and basses became full Custom Shop builds, 100% made in Australia.

Gaskell Today

 

Gaskell Guitars in 2026 returns to the spirit of the original PRO SERIES, bringing its renowned left-handed custom guitars into a more accessible era.

 

By combining carefully sourced components from multiple regions with Gaskell NOS parts and completing final assembly and setup at the Gaskell Custom Shop in Australia, each instrument is built with the quality, individuality, and performance of a true custom guitar at a more attainable price point. It’s a modern Gaskell approach for players who want something special without the old boutique price barrier.

In addition to our off-the-shelf left-handed models, Gaskell offers a more personalised custom build path for players seeking something truly personal. Building on the core platform, further custom upgrades can include premium paintwork as well as bespoke hardware and specification upgrades.
